Whenever I hear anyone talk about a new skin care regime someone always mentions "New products will break you out, it just shows that its working" or something along those lines. For a long time I thought this was true, just a fact of life. Until I realised this has NEVER happened to me. All my favourite skincare regimes have never broke me out they have just cleared up my skin and kept it that way.
I guess what I am wondering is: Did any of your favourite skincare regimes break you out, if so how long before you started seeing results?
Thank you! x

Ah, is that what causes it! Is Salicylic acid and benzyol peroxide found commonly in "normal" face washes or acne face washes?
Oh hahah! I've heard so much good about dermalogica, will really need to try it one day.
Thank you Mieke V! x

I've never ever heard this. If something breaks my skin out, it keeps breaking my skin out so I stop using whatever that product is. Saliciylic acid is what is in most acne treatments that are suppose to reduce pimples and redness quickly. Not make it worse.

Yes, sometimes people experience a "purging period" where their skin is flushing out the nasties lurking underneath. I experienced it when I started my prescriptions, but it cleared up fast. I'd much rather deal with a temporary breakout than the horrible underground pimples that happened before.
