Obviously being in the UK I can't get Ipsy but I thought I'd use that as an example seeing as most of you are from the US. There are plenty of different beauty boxes available here and I'm kiiiind of interested in trying some but I was wondering...
Do you think, instead of paying the money for the box, would you feel happier just spending that money on one or two products that you really want and like of your own choice? Do you find that the majority of what you get in your boxes goes unused and that you've essentially paid $10 for one sample that you did like, or are there always multiple products you like in each box that are worth more in total than the price of the box?

I'm in the UK and I've been getting Birchbox for about 4 months now. It seems like a good idea but in the grand scheme of things I seem to be stockpiling loads of samples. It would be better if there was a box that was purely full of makeup, because I would actually use it all. But I always get at least 2 skin care products that are either too rich for my skin, or come in too small a quantity that they don't have any benefit over a period of time. I haven't yet come across anything that I wanted to purchase the full size of.

I did ipsy for 3 months, and just quit the subscription about a week ago. The last bag I got was just preposterous. Overall, I found about 1 or 2 things out of all the bags that I liked.

I had a birchbox for 6 months and ended up hating it. Here are some of the items I received: a pen, toothpaste, 1 hairband, a sandwich bag, 98457 million packets of lotion. The first couple of boxes were amazing- I actually got makeup. They got bad REALLY quickly though.

I've only gottin two bags so far but over all I'm happy w it. its a chance to try things you normally may not have bought. I'd definitely look up reviews. I looked up birchbox when I was deciding which one to choose, they were all pretty much bad and after seeing Molly's post I'm glad I listened...a sandwich bag! if I signed up for that and ended up getting a pen and a sandwich bad I would of been pissed
