Hey guys,
I'm new here and this is my first conversation :P
I have been trawling the web trying to get some information on how I can become a makeup artist (it has been a dream for a while now)
I have never "trained" in makeup, and I consider myself to know the basics.
I have recently purchased three books to help me learn professional skills. These books were;
Kevyn Aucoin: Making Faces
Rae Morris: Makeup the Ultimate Guide
Scott Barnes: About Face
I have also purchased some face charts.
My plan was to learn the basics through reading these books and watching some online tutorials (if anyone could give me names of good online tutorials that would be great :) ) until next year when I plan to attend AOFM makeup school in London so that I can have some kind of certificate in Makeup and also to learn more advanced skills.
Is this a good plan? Does anyone have any advice for me , if I should be doing something else or have I got it all sorted?
Sorry I know this is a long post but I really need the information :)
Thanks so much!
Zoe xx

Hey Zoe! I really like the book Makeup your mind: express yourself by Francois nars. It's a really awesome book! Face charts are difficult but if you can master them then more power to you! :) you can look at my videos if you like?? YouTube.com/jkissamakeup. I hope that helps! Xoxo.

Hey JKISSA, thanks I'll have a look online for the book now! I've never done them before but I thought it would be a good way to try and start showing off what I can do, and how much I will be progressing whilst I'm learning :) awesome thanks! I'll have a look now xxx

Face charts are fun you practise your blending while doing it. It's a great skill just in case a bride or a client wants to see some ideas you can show them it on a face chart so they have a better understanding. Or you could have a few face charts ready for a trail and they pick which one they think in more 'them'
