Hi ladies,
I have oily skin. My makeup is fine for the first few hours after I apply it but after that...oil and shine galore, especially in my t zone! So I was told to use pressed powder to set my foundation and control the oil. My question is..what is the best way to apply pressed powder? Should I use a powder brush or a powder puff?
HELP! I'm tired of being shiny! Lol

I use a stippling brush actually but I don't pack it on its it. I've found that the oily places pick up the powder better.

Jacqueline..
Since you only use powder to touch up, what do you use applying foundation? I use Urban Decay Naked Foundation and after a few hours, my face is oily, my face doesn't look matte anymore and it's just annoying. I'm new to makeup and I want that flawless model/actress look. Do you have any tutorials?

First, use a primer like benefit porefessional and after applying foundation, let it set into your skin. Then, taking a tissue and dividing the layers of it, use one of the layer and use that like a blotting sheet all ober your face. After that's done use a mattifying powder such as maybelline dream mattd powder or rimmel stay matte powder with a puff or damp sponge on your face! :)

First and foremost use a primer for oily skin! I have extremely oily skin and I use Mac prep and prime translucent powder. I dab that on them go in with my matte finish foundation and finish off with a powder. I know it sounds like a lot of powder but for oily skin it works. You need to sandwich that foundation in powder to really hold it. Don't use any finishing sprays unless it mattes you out! Also get blot powder for any touch ups but if you do it my way I doubt you will have to touch up. Don't get me wrong it doesn't get rid of all the oil but instead of looking greasy you will look like you have a natural glow to your skin.

Thank you so much ladies!! I do use a primer (Benefit Stay Flawless) so I guess I'm doing something right. All of your tips are greatly appreciated! ❤❤❤

I prefer to press and roll my powder onto my face instead of swirling it around! Hope this helped :)

Ashley! I had the same problem. I used rimmel stay matte powder because I heard it was great for oily skin but within an hour of applying it I'd get oily. So I'd have to reapply it like 3 or 4 times a day and I'd look like a cakey mess! I found a great technique though! After applying my foundation and concealer I let it sit for a few mins so it dries and sets in. Then I take a regular cosmetic sponge (the ones that come in a pack of like 30 and they're all stuck together. They're triangle shaped), swipe it in my rimmel stay matter translucent powder, and lightly press it into my skin mainly in the areas I get oily. Then I just use a big fluffy brush for the rest of my face. IT WORKS WONDERS! Idky it works so well for me but I literally don't need to touch up all day. Also I use covergirl stay fabulous 3 in 1 foundation which is amazing for my oily akin. I hope this helps! If you have any more questions, just ask :)
