You would want to steer away from matte finish foundation. & you would need a good moisturizer that can help you with your dry skin. You can try L'Or?al true match lumi or Revlon's color stay.. I know mac has great foundationz for dry skin.

I agree ^ benefit makeup lasts a long time and its definently worth the money. But if your looking for a foundation I would go with a maybelline foundation like 'dream-matte mousse' but because you have dry skin your going to have to buy a moisturiser so your face doesn't look cakey. - and for mascara I would go for any really, if you go to your local drugstore they will have tons to choose from :) - good luck

I wouldn't get dream matte mousse if you have dry skin it looks bbaadd try a bb cream if its your first time using makeup it's not too heavy and it has a moisturiser in it.

Please don't weigh your face with too much makeup!
For me, I ALWAYS start with something light/natural, especially if its going to be an everyday routine :)
Try using a good moisturiser (physiogel does an amazing one for my really dry skin)
then concealer/BB cream (I really like the one from bodyshop's)
mascara (maybelline and covergirl are some good drugstore brands)
I hope that it helps :D
The more you practice, the better you'll get at it!
Cheers

Covergirl three in one foundation is amazing and a high quality drugstore product, covergirl clump crusher mascara is great and revlon stick concealer is great.
