Middle School Makeup

Alright, so I've seen this question countless times and I don't wanna answer it countless times; So I have decided to do this in article form!

With the school year coming up, it can be really stressful. What to wear, what to do. Well, I'm going to be focusing on the makeup aspect, it's what I do best!

Middle school is what? 6-8th grade? You're barely hitting adolescence and you still have that cutesey look to you. You don't NEED makeup, but for those of you who would still like to wear it, this is all for you!

Personally, I'm in 10th grade and wear nothing but powder to school, eyeliner on a good day. Why? Because half the people at my school I hate, and the other half I couldn't give a crap about.
Of course, there are my friends but those have to love me no matter what.

The beauty of simple, natural makeup, is that it lets someone see the real you, and it helps with self confidence. Washing off dark black eye liner and colorful eyeshadow leaves you with a different perspective of yourself, if you're used to heavy makeup, you won't be happy with your natural beauty.

So, now to the actual useful part;
The makeup.

At this time, you probably don't have acne. Therefore, why do you need foundation? Or concealer? Putting that gunk on your face is unnecessary, as fun as it is, and will just lead you to have bad skin earlier than you normally would through hormones and what not. Basically, it screws you over for high school. If anything, apply some light concealer under the eyes IF you have bad under eye circles, and set it with a powder.

There are many different powders, for all different problems! The Elf complexion powder is amazing if you have redness or discolouration, and it's affordable on an allowance salary. If you find your skin to be very oily, apply a translucent powder, and carry blotting sheets, to while off the oils instead of covering them with more makeup, yuck! If, after all this you still decide you want coverage, go for a mineral powdered foundation. My favourite is the Micabella, though it is pricey. A good dupe is the elf one! It's about 6 dollars, and it is basically three steps in one! Apply on blemishes with a concealer brush and then powder lightly everywhere else, flawless face with only one product!

Now, if you do decide to use a product with coverage, you're going to need blush. Nothing looks more unnatural then single toned skin! Apply a creme or liquid one so that your face doesn't look overly powdery! A great pick would by the Maybelline dream bouncy blushes, simply dab some on the apples of your cheeks with your finger then blend!

Now for the eyes, these would be a safe bet to keep natural. Open up your eyes by curling your lashes and applying some black or brown mascarra! For an extra subtle pop apply a colored mascarra at the base! Purples and blues work with almost every color.

I wouldn't recommend wearing eyeshadow to school, as it's too much work and may look overwhelming in middle school, but if you do want to wear some stick to creme shadows, the Maybeline Colour Tattoos are great because the metallic texture gives it dimension all on its own, which means you only need a swipe on the lid and you're good to go!

For eyeliner, be aware that dark liners on the water line can make eyes look smaller! So apply a brown to the outer half of the waterline. If this is too intense leave it or use a skin colored pencil, this gives you an awake look while still being more subtle than white. A thin line of black liquid liner on the top lash like can also look good, but be careful because this may make your lids look smaller if its too thick, and it can be hard to work with, so practice before the big day!

Lips! Lips are fun to play with, but lipstick can be overwhelming for a young tween, so go for tinted lip balms! You still get color without the look of a lipstick, I think lip colour is the funnest to play with!

This isn't a set rule book, so modify this to your needs, and feel free to ask questions regarding your personal preferences or need and ill answer them to my best ability.

Well, I hope I helped. And remember, less is more!

It's so sick when middle school girls wear too much makeup!! It looks so trashy

@sally I just did one on dealing with acne and getting rid of it! It's in skin care. But covering it is just the products you use!

For foundation I'd recommend the Revlon Photoready or the Revlon Colorstay both very high coverage foundations!
For concealer the Revlon Photoready and the hard candy glamaflouge are both great options
Then just top it with a powder!
