Are you wearing a stud or bar through it? I had the same problem with the stud so I switched to a bar, I clean it every day with anitbacterial / salt water with a cotton bud it's still tender but its a lot better the swelling went down quickly I've had mine a month... The best thing to do is ask a piercer their opinion x

I used to have 16 ear piercings in total and redness and soreness are all completely normal. Make sure you clean it morning and night but otherwise try not to touch it.

I have my helix pierced too(right on the tip of my ear, kinda weird but) and I couldn't lay on that side for 6 months because it was really sensative. I alternated between salt water and rubbing alcohol( which some people say you shouldn't use but I've never had a problem) and now I don't even feel it after a year and a half.

Also you could be allergic to the metal if its not silver or gold.

So I been doing the sea salt bath on my ear and moving it. That made my ear feel way better! :) hopefully I can change it soon..

Oh and I noticed that the rubbing alcohol is bad for me.. it irritates my skin, I feel like its to strong.
