I have oily skin and have used both. For me a benzoyl peroxide based wash follow by salicylic acid on problem areas is what works best for me. :)

I just started using a cleanser with benzoyl peroxide, and it reallly dried out my skin. I would say salicylic acid. But if you go for benzoyl, try only using it once a day, to avoid the dryness.

I have to agree with Mikayla B, what? And I have better luck with salicylic acid. I turned out to be allergic to benzoyl peroxide so I can't use it.

I think benzoyl peroxide on problem areas works much better than salicylic acid.
