Well try to avoid heat, and when you do use heat make sure you use a heat protector spray. Try not to brush your hair when it's wet, only comb it. Essential oils are great for your hair, personally I would say Aragon oil. I've recently started taking biotin pills, so you could try that (just drink lots of water and make sure you get lots of b vitamins) also try to keep yourself stress free!

As far as thin hair needing to be thick, I have really thick hair so I wouldn't really know what to tell you on that haha. Just try to keep it as healthy as possible. No hair falling out could make a big difference!

I'd say try the biotin pills, I've read up about them and they are suppost to help thicken up hair and make it strong and shiny an healthy and should keep your hair from thinning out more if not help it get thicker. Read up on them a little bit :)

I hav the same prob. started using menoxidin hair spray, as prescribed by my dermatologist. my hair has more volume now than it had a few months ago.

Take hair vitamins and use head and shoulders shampoo.. Rub a diluted amount of monostat 7 on your scalp..ik it doesn't sound right bcuz its for yeast infections but it really does work and fast!! Look on youtube if you don't believe me I've also tried it.. I grew 3 inches of hair in a month once...or you can try aloe vera gel that works just as well too.
