Never had one but I've given people perms. the grow out process isn't visually attractive. straight roots and curly ends, but if youre good with your hair you can work it out! everyone will have an opinion, some people love them others not so much. if your hair is short I would stear clear unless you want a curly fro! ;)

I'm not a fan of chemicals that straighten or perm hair. Its just my personal opinion but if you decide to go for it just remember that you have to put in work to maintain it. Especially when it starts growing out.

I have one and love it. It takes a lot of product though but to me its totally worth it. My hair doesn't look damaged or anything. I would only recommend it if you have a really trustworthy hairdresser.

As a hairdresser, I personally think perms are better suited for older women with short haircuts that get their hair cut regularly and just wash and go. Perms are very damaging. They infact contain the same chemical as Nair/Veet and drain cleaner. Comforting, right?
