Well I think you should start wearing makeup when you feel like you absolutely need it. Don't go around wearing makeup just because cause you may not need it.

I'm guessing you mean age-wise? I guess I am one of the few on here that thinks its okay for younger girls just to "play" with makeup, but as far as a full face fancy products, I say start wearing it when you can purchase it yourself.

I totally agree with you Rachel, when I was younger I remember asking my mom to buy me make up. She would say I was too young. Now I can buy it myself and don't have to ask. But letting littler girls play with makeup is actually cute, but letting them wear it on a daily bases is a bit much.

I can't say a particular age It's just when your ready and if your parents are ok with it has to factor in.

Definitely! I would always get my moms half dried out/empty products to play with haha. I'll probably catch a lot of crap for this, but I've purchased my 6 year old niece makeup (an elf pallette to be exact). She had one that was made for little girls to play, but it didn't have a lid and was gross the day after she got it haha. She doesn't have a real "girly" figure in her life, but you can already tell she loves fashion so I feel like its important to teach her how to be clean (no sharing makeup with friends!) and when it's okay to wear makeup, the self esteem issues and things like that.

And if I have a daughter I love makeup and beauty products so much that naturally I'm going to let her play around with it. So I have no problem with younger girls using makeup.

@jenna lots of younger kids like playing around with makeup at that age. I remember when I was 9 that's when I started wearing lipgloss sure I wore mainly because it tasted like starburst but it also made me feel really dressed up for special events. Also most little girls I know play with those little kid makeup kits I think it's fine it makes them happy and makes them feel like princesses I don't see what's wrong with that.

Whenever the HELLLLL they want! lol there's no wrong or right age to start. people don't start wearing make up to impress others, they usually start because it sparks their interest! if you're limited on something that interests you, what's the point of living?!?! people have to live freeeeeeeeeely up in this world :)

Well I wore eyeliner in 6th, then I wore mascara and eyeliner in 7th. but I really started to get good and play with it in 8th grade. I wore bb cream, eyeliner, eyeshadow, mascara, bronzer, and lip color.

Most girls I know started wearing makeup because they felt they were ugly without it and because all the older girls wore it. So I'd say late enough in the girl's (or boy's) adolescence for self esteem to be a non-issue. It's a different age for everyone.

Ya, when I first started my mom would give me hers that was almost empty bc she had bought more. I think that the right age to wear makeup on a daily basis would be 12-13. my daughter is 2 and I let her play with my messed up makeup or almost gone makeup. I think that girls should be allowed to play with it and have some mommy daughter play time with it cuz its fun!! but when you first start out, I always say DON't OVER DO IT! Bc when you first start with eyeliner or something that is more bold, I think you suck at it at first lol. at least I did. so before you start doin it daily, get information about it on YouTube, or your mom or someone who has experience with it. that way you don't look like a clown! :)
