I love to curl my hair but when I do, the curls fall out within an hour and the curls are always bunched together. How can I get them to stay in & get curls like this?

For hair that's hard to curl, usually curling them with a flat iron can help last longer. Apply a curling cream or mousse lightly first though.

And also, the slower you'll run the flat iron through your hair, the loser the curls will be. Good luck :)

Do each curl in a different direction to the one next to it so they do not stick together and thus it will create more volume

To keep them from bunching up, alternate the direction of which you curl the strands. curl one away from your face, then curl the next toward your face, and so on. it looks like thats what smiley did in the pic anyway. and make sure you put a mousse in your hair, then spray with hairspray. it will hold it.
