I have an aunt who's 69 and she got breast implants because she had to have a mastectomy and hers are the first type of implants that are hard. I have an other aunt (in law) who just wanted bigger boobies and hers are a modern implant that feels just like the real deal :) they both look fab! lol.

Lol, why the hate? I don't understand how someone having plastic surgery affects another in any way, as long as he/she is aware of the risks and is still willing to undergo it, then I don't see the problem with it at all.

In my opinion I think it's fine! Everyone on this website is always saying you should have confidence and you shouldn't matter what other people say. Well why can't I get a nose job (which I want) because I know I will feel better about myself and know that I still look beautiful but even more.

*it shouldn't

If it gives you the confidence, then so be it. There are certainly things I would consider getting done, not because I'm "insecure" just because I think it'll look good. A little goes a long way.

I agree with nabila :)

Plastic surgery is ok in moderation. If every time someone looks at a mirror they notice that one thing they wish was different then go for it. Just don't nit pick at every little thing you don't like about yourself because then it becomes an issue with selft esteem and no amount of surgery can fix that. At the end of the day it doesn't make someone superficial to have a little tweaking done as long as it's done tastefully (no H sized boobs or stuff)

I agree with Kenzie. If it helps someone feel better about themselves then I say don't judge them! Do what makes you happy, but try to love yourself the way you are! It has very little to do with self esteem these days and more of self image and society's expectations of women. A lot of women feel pressured to do things to make them fit into society's perfect image or feel that they should so they can feel like they fit in.

I agree with Ana and Brittany, I think it's fine in moderation. I also don't like when people do it for petty reasons though.

Dana- May I ask what a petty reason would be?

I honestly think that it has nothing to do with being insecure... I think if people are unhappy with something on their body or would be happy looking different it's their choice. not all plastic surgery is dangerous. not all plastic surgery actually puts plastic in your body. I would never get it done because I don't like pain but there's no reason to bash anyone that does.

I think its fine.

Lauren, you may! And I think getting surgery to please someone else is a petty reason.

People should do what they want with their bodies as long as it isn't dangerous. I have no right to shame someone else for their choices, even if I wouldn't do it.

I just can't believe that someone said "if the teen knows they're doing it for themselves" teenagers DO NOT need cosmetic surgery. That was a stupid comment, because your body is still growing and changing. However, I do think that if someone, as an adult, has a problem with the way they look, then surgery is their choice and who are we to judge them for it?

I agree..
I see nothing wrong with getting plastic surgery if it really makes a person feel better about themselves. I don't think somebody should do it however to please another person. And Jenna's right, not all plastic surgery is dangerous and not all of it is actually putting plastic into your body.
If you want to do something for you.. Then why not do it? It's kind of like when people say "oh but your so pretty without makeup!" But you still continue to wear makeup. You're wearing it because you want to. Because you like it and it makes you feel good about yourself. :) I'm sure the people who have surgerys know the risks their taking as well as the possible outcomes because its a surgeons duty to tell then these things. So yeah. Do whatever you want to do. It's your body... Your feelings. 😊

Ah.. I agree with Hannah as well. Teenagers are definitely too young and are still growing. But once you've matured I really see nothing wrong with it.

I think plastic surgery is fine. I had a 'mommy makeover' a year after having my daughter because, even with tons of exercise, after delivery my tummy never got back to normal. Also after breast feeding my boobs were like tube socks & literally fell out of bras when I bent over. I feel so much better & like myself again. It's not something I did for anyone but myself.

If it makes you happy go for it. If plastic surgery will make you happy about your appearance then I don't see the issue.

God created you special, I don't think you should change yourself. You are basically discouraging his creation.
