Plastic surgery doesn't always consists of being insecure there are people that have cleft pallet and need it fixed. Or people who get in a car accident and their face got messed up, it can be used to reconstruct. So don't always automatically assume it's for just insecure people.

I think if the person feels like it will truly make them happier with their appearance than that's their prerogative. many renowned surgeons actually suggest to their clients to attend some therapy sessions for low self-esteem to ensure that they're making the right decision for them. and is only as dangerous as the skills of the surgeon which is why research is vital.

Exactly! cosmetic surgery has made serious leaps and bounds in the last 10 years. its definitely not as taboo as it used to be. procedures can range from small tweaks that virtually no one will notice except for the client to full body reconstruction. all procedures have a place tho depending on the individual needs.

I agree with Kenzie!
I used to be totally against it, but then my cousin admitted that she had a boob job. She said that at first she considered it because her boyfriend hinted it at, but when they broke up she realized how shallow and patronizing he actually was and decided against the surgery. Two years later, she was frustrated with never having enough cleavage to fill out any dresses or tops, so she went and did it. She loved her body as it was before, but is even happier with it now. I agree that God made you as you are for a reason, and I would never mess with that, but it's not fair to be so judgmental when you don't know the whole story. A lot of people are insecure and think that a new nose will solve all of their problems - but not everyone who chooses plastic surgery has low self-esteem.

Katie its about as dangerous as any surgery. your body is being cut, there's a risk whether the surgery is cosmetic or health related.

To some, yes it will. they've weighed out the pros and cons, the risks and the benefits and surgery is still the answer. now I'm not talking about those who get addicted to plastic surgery. like most things people can take it too far.

I recently got breast implants for my 21 bday and I'm very happy with the results :)
It's your body you can do what you want with it
If you feel insecure about something fix it but make sure you go to a certified surgeon :)

At the end of the day it's not even that big a deal. A person is not starting World War III by going up a few cup sizes. Their choices are none of your business, and their life is not your's to judge. Their are much bigger things you should be concerned about.

Ok, I got plastic surgery last month on my ears because for the past 6 years I've been bullied about it every single day. I don't think plastic surgery is bad if it makes you feel better about yourself.

Yes amy! mj is actually a perfect example of someone who was addicted. I watched a documentary on him and he talked about how he had extremely bad cystic acne and his father made fun if his large nose and referred to him as the ugly one. his lifestyle perpetuated his insecurities and when he could finally do something about it he was already so emotionally scarred that no amount of surgery was enough.

Everything in moderation I believe. obviously you should do it for yourself and not for anyone else. if its able to be fixed, with little risk, why not? looking like a human Barbie doll is one thing, but there's a difference between giving yourself a confidence boost and changing everything about your external appearance for the sake of plain vanity.
for myself, I've had a baby boy and have a little girl on the way. child rearing takes a toll on your body. one day, when my finances are more secure, I'd like to get breast implants, ya know just to restore them to pre-baby bustiness. lol. I don't think wanting to feel as sexy as before is being insecure, just being honest with the facts of life, and considering rewarding myself after another year of breast feeding. haha.
