Not very long. Split ends keep going up your hair shift and making the growth process slow down. It's best to get a trim every 8 weeks or so to get rid of split ends and speed up the growth process even if it's a half inch off your ends.

You should cut them as soon as you can because other wise you'll just have to cut more because they just keep splitting up, my friend didn't want tocut her hair and she had it down to he lower back she had to cut it to he shoulders because it was to split and dry to save :(

You should get your ends cut. the split ends just go up n damage more hair n you'll need more cut off later.

Masks and conditioners just smooth the spilt ends. You'll still have them. From my experience I went almost 5 years without a hair cut but I used masks and conditioners twice a week. When I finally decided to go in for a trim my stylist had a heck of a time even taking a few inches off. I went back every 6 weeks for almost months for a trim and decided to cut my hair that was almost down to my butt to my shoulder because my split ends were so bad for not getting even a trim for so long.

I would two things:
1st I would get a trim asap
2nd start using hydrating and protein conditionners to slow down the splitting process.

Silicon based products have a bas rep but they are actually good for that also.

But just think..if you go every six wks, they're just cutting off what you just grew. I think that's why my hair was literally the same length for a yr straight lol.

Yor hair grows on average about to 1/2 in a mounth I'd suggest if your growing it out cut it every 3-6 mounths and baby your hair as in use a heat portector when useing heat to help prevent split ends I love useing redken anti snap it is the best thing for me to grow out my hair and also shampoo less it can cause spit ends shampooing to often I'd suggest a clensing conditioner or just regular and only wash your hair that way or shampoo once a week and also take biotin like a 10000 mg dosage it will help a lot to grow out your hair
