I like eyeliner pencil better. I use avon brand black pencil. But I'm not an expert but that's what I like :)

I use liquid eyeliner because its easier to put detail in the kind of style I want my eyes to have, but I've never tried the pencil eyeliner to be honest (:

Pencil is easier to use and more versatile (you can use it in and out of the lid) but some liquids have a felt tip structure and do beautiful eyeliner wings, so I suppose it comes down to which you wear more often; the winged eyeliner or waterline.
