GHDs are so much better than any Chi straightner. I have owned both of them and Chi doesn't even compare. They are worth it.

I've tried Chi, HAI, and GHD (I'm on my 2nd after a almost 8 year lifespan of my first of every day use and some abuse from keeping it in my bag). I love it - the plates are 100% ceramic instead of just ceramic plating and they don't fry your hair not to mention (like most but I feel they are more effective since the plates together frame a barrel effect) it curls hair as well! Definitely worth the $.
