I've heard a lot of great things about coconut oil making hair healthier and softer and all that, but I've also heard that it can strip the color from your hair. I dyed my hair a couple of days ago and was wondering how long I should wait before using this? :)

I dye my hair regularly and I use the coconut oil treatment about 2-3 times a week and my hair color is still vibrant and has not faded, if you're worried about the color try not to do it so often, but it really does help your hair become healthy and soft!

It does not really strip it! I would wait at least three days to be safe tho!

Coconut oil doesn't strip color from hair. its amazzzziinng! its the only oil that penetrates the hair shaft to stimulate, repair and all the other good stuff. I'm mixed Latina and African American so I have curly and kinda coarse hair. trust me its holy grail of hair treatments. my hair doesn't produce its own oils like Caucasian, Asian, Spanish etc. so be careful not to use too much on your hair or it will be greasy so 2 teaspoons go a lonnnng way on the other hand I have to use like 4x that amount because my hair needs oil. but like they said wait a little bit then use it just to be safe.

I've used it as a hot oil with olive oil amd vitamin e oil it works wonder but if you have demi dye or red it fades it but barley if you have brow. blonde it won't but don't over do it because over conditioned hair causes your hair to break and become weak.

I agree with Tenia!! I absolutely LOVE coconut oil it's a lol miracle in a jar... And not only for hair... It works as a good makeup remover too and it helps grow your eye lashes and eye brows you can use it with brown sugar as a lip scrub... I could go on about that stuff!! In LOVE😍😍😍
