I had several shellac manicures recently. After they took the polish off, I decided to go bare for a while. My nails feel weird and it almost looks like there is a clear base coat on my nails growing out as my nails grow. I've tried remover and acetone and it doesn't come off. It's also chipped looking in weird spots and slightly peels if I really pick at it. I keep painting my nails with regular polish to hide this. I've never had this after my other shellac manicures. Have you ever had this problem? How do I fix it?? My nails feel very unhealthy!!

Was the acetone 100%? If you cannot remove it enirely urself go to the salon and they will remove it.

I had that happen after I took off fake nails; turns out it was the upper layer of my nail. I would leave it alone and maybe see your manicurist, they should know what to do about it.

If I let it grow out will it just resolve itself??

Paint them again. Renews then.

Let them breathe; keeping products on the nail (polish, gel, acrylics, etc.) weakens the nail. If whatever it was didn't come off with acetone, it is probably best to let the nails grow and heal themselves.
