I havent tried gel yet but I loved pencil as a beginner and for a casual or smoky look. I usually use liquid for special occasions because its simple but so many different types of looks can be created and it can look dramatic and sophisticated.

Depends on the look. If you want to smoke out the liner a lot, pencil. A little smoked out but can also be defined, gel. If you don't want it to move and want it to be really defined, use a liquid

I like gel eyeliner because I feel like I have more control. I sometimes use liquid liner over the gel to give it a darker and defined look. For everyday I like using pencil eyeliner and smudging it out ^^
