I saw this tip on tv and they were saying it gives you fuller looking lips therefore makes your face look younger. There's reasoning behind this tip afterall :)

A lot of people think bangs are youthful. I think with makeup, if you are young and wear too much, you look either your age or even younger... Like you're playing with makeup but not necessarily skilled enough to know how to enhance your features. If you're young and wear just a touch (powder, mascara, brow definition, lip tint or gloss) you will look polished and perhaps older. I read in Allure that the older you get, the less contrast your face naturally has... Lips blend in to face, teeth are not white, eye whites are yellowed, etc. which is why it's chic and pretty to wear a bright lip to throw some color on to your wise and knowing visage:) hope this helps or is at least interesting?
