Hi there I wonder if anyone could help me. I use estate lauder double wear maximum cover and when you wear this and get a picture taken your face is so white can anyone tell me what I can buy to prevent this from happening as it's horrible to see in your pictures. Thanks :-)

I'm not too familiar with Estée Lauder but if it has SPF in it that could totally be what's causing it!

It also could be shimmers in the foundation that could be make a white cast, try to find one with less shimmers.

Maybe you need to add a little powder bronzer to give you some color? A light amount may help. I always add a little after foundation (:

It's most likely the SPF in it. In photos where you do NOT use a flash, it will not be noticeable - but the titanium dioxide in the sunscreen will reflect the light from a flash, making you look lighter.

Have you tried the Estee Lauder normal Double Wear foundation? I'm not familiar with it so I don't know the coverage level, but I do know that it does not have SPF in it.

Aubrey is right. If you use flash, or almost any lighting that's semi direct, you'll get flashback. If you want photos done, you're basically going to have to switch. As a photo major, there really isn't a lighting technique that I'm familiar with that will change it. I'd try and hit Sephora and ask if they can match you with a sample without sunscreen, I think you'll find something comparable that let's you take photos. Also, make sure your primer is spf free as well, no point in switching foundation if you still have spf in the primer. Hope that helps!

@Jacqueline, I'd never heard this about spf until I got on BL. and I also read that BL article when it was released like "wow, ppl have been going by this. I've never heard it" so like you, I always comment that that's no accurate. but I read n Bobbi Brown book this wk not to use sof because you'll get flashback. confusion. I kno that's not the case from experience. but I was so surprised to read that.

Good to know I'm not the only one.. :-)
I've had this book for a yr n just read it. lol.

Nicola, one thing I stay away from is talc. as a brown skinned girl it definitely causes some white shadowing in photos.. maybe just something to keep in kind when you shop around.. taking a pic of yourself is the ultimate test tho. :-) good luck to you.

I kind of want to take everyone's suggestions and do a myth buster style shoot and see what's what. This has me curious!  :)
