Im looking at your picture and i do think the placement is nice for your eyeshape i wish i could see another pic.
But what I would do is use this brush with no product on the brush. blend out that harsh line a little on your brow bone. once you do that i feel like you should add a highlighter right at your arch of your brow to pop out the colors you have on your eye. then get that fluffy angle brush i showed you. hopefully you do have a brush similar to it and blend the highlighter to your dark color so it looks like everything blended on your eye. Just keep practicing. I think you did an amazing job on the placement on your eye.

Make sure you don't blow the color out too far. Other than that, awesome!

I feel like I have more control with a brush like that. That's just my opinion because its dense on the shorter side of the brush (meaning the brush bristles are more compact on the shorter end of the brush) and fluffy on the tip of the brush because the brush bristles are longer. so if you need to have more control and drag out the color in certain areas where you think it will nicer use the dense part of the brush and then blend it with the longer tip of the brush because that side isnt as dense. and it helps blend. hopefully that makes sense.

It's most likely the camera that couldn't pick up all the colors. It happens to me on mostly all my pics
