Make a deep part above the arch of your eyebrow on one side. section out the hair you want to braid and pin the rest back. I use about a 2 inch wide section and portion it from the part to your ear. take a small section from the top by the part and separate into 3 sections. start from front to back meaning the section closest to your face crosses towards the back of your head followed by the back section. as you go pick up a small amount of hair from the front section and the back. the middle doesn't need added hair. here is a video that taught me how to do it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fHKElFOp0fw.
