I really want to dye my all of my hair some strange like purple but I'm not sure how that would go as far as root touch ups. Does anyone have any tips on how to do touch ups for stuff like that??

I wanted to do the same but also didn't know much about root touch ups. So I dyed half my hair. Like the ombré look. I think it's looks cuter

I want to do that but my hair is short and I don't know if it will look good.

Plus, I dye my hair darker so I'd still have to do root touch ups but I'm used to regular colored touch ups.

How light are your roots and when you say " strange color", are you thinking of a bright or dark shade?

Dark purple probably. And I'm a dirtyish blonde when my roots grow out.

Do not try dying your hair purple if your a beginner. you will honestly have to bleach the crap out of your hair. I dyed mine lilac before and I fried my hair. even if its a dark purple you will still have to bleach and tone out. purple and blue don't come easy. it takes long steps and weeks to get your hair that color.

Touch ups work the same as any other color.

I have dyed parts if my hair purple before so I know all the working and bleaching. Carley, does it take more time since you have to bleach it?

Well much more time than with another color?

Do lots of research. I have a friend who's dyed her hair turquoise and all purple and all sorts of crazy color. She was even featured in the year book. To top it off she has it cut really short in a pixie cut and its curly and ethnic so she has to straighten it.
She told me that by doing I the common way you'll burn and fry your hair. She's dyed it so much but it's still so soft and silky. She also told me that most hair stylists don't know what they're doing when dealing with hair ( I agree with that especially American stylist the quality in America is that of getting your hair done by a monkey ) she says all she did was sat down and researched it to a t because she wasnt going to pay a hair dresser and the colors came out quite beautifully. I never asked what she exactly did because I wouldn't dye my hair an unatural color, but I'm sure if she found it you can too.
