I have really long eye lashes and whenever I apply mascara it always gets on my eyelids. How can I prevent this?

Ulta and Saphora offer silicon "plates" that you put on your lid when applying masscara, they're pretty inexpensive and reusable

Mine do that too its so annoying!! I just take a q-tip and swirl it on my eyelid and it comes off great, but it kinda sucks when I wear eyeshadow cause sometimes it will mess it up. I really like the "plate" idea though!
