Hair for costume. Help please.

Looking for hair ideas. Me and my friend are doing this for our Halloween costume and the shirt is going to be the same color as the makeup with black leggings. Shirt is going to have wings drawn on it.
My friend is doing green and she has brown long hair.
I'm either doing black or red and I have black hair spray if I'm doing black. I naturally have red hair.
What should we do. Our hair does not have to be the same. Preferably I would rather not have it the same.

This is kinda what we are doing except just different colors.

I would straighten and gel the ends of small sections into a pointy spike, spray with glitter hairspray

Agree with @kris!! Oh and on the spikes you can lightly spray black onto your hair (tip of points)!!
