Has anyone made a Spectraflair topcoat? I've got the powder but wondering what I should put it in. I'd love to try it with Seche (I have no patience waiting for polish to dry) but fear that it won't work and will just waste a bottle.
Any recommendations would be much appreciated.

on TKBTRADING.COM they sell a franken polish GLAMOUR suspension Base and mini polish bottles. I highly recommend it

Spectraflair cannot be legally used in nail polish since it was created for the automotive industry. From nail blogger friends, I've been told that Spectraflair can cause the nails to lift off the nail bed.

@Caitlyn Unfortunately TKB don't ship to the UK. Or should that be fortunately? If they did I would probably be bankrupted by now!

I'm not sure it's a known fact. It was brought up in a dinner conversation I had with some nail bloggers while we were at CPNA in July. The discussion was on the ingredients in nail polish and Spectraflair was brought up. I know TKB has mentioned on their site Spectraflair is illegal to sell for nail polish.

I have Spectra Flair and actually mixed with a almost full bottle of Seche Vite I added in 3 BB gun balls in there as well so it can mix the pigment together when it setlles to the bottom if u use a suspension base with a clear coat it stays mixed and wont sink. I use spectra flair and never have had any damage to my nails and there are a lot and I mean a lot of nail girls that use it and none of them have had there nail beds fall off.

I'm going to have to talk to a few of my nail blogger friends and find out who is the one who mentioned the Spectraflair legality and the reason why it's actually illegal. I remember there was a conversation about how there are only three manufacturers in the US that actually make nail polishes and how there is only one that makes the holographic ingredient (and how they have that patent or something to that effect). Wish I took notes! LOL It was a really interesting conversation.

Spectraflair is a chemical sibling to a powder that is very commonly used in money counterfeiting, which is one of the main reasons you can't buy it from a marketer. It is also patented. However, if you did have some, and we're not intending to sell it or your finished product, I would assume you would be fine. As far as it damaging nails/nail bed, nail polish remover is one of the worst things for your nails and we repeatedly use it, some people even trap it under their nail polish thinking it glides on more smoothly. Not true. The best thing to do to keep your nails healthy I give then a days break between polish, use a non-acetone remover, and use a base coat before applying ANY polish.

From what I've seen Spectraflair in polish isn't illegal, it's just not FDA approved. You can't buy it in powder form any more because of the counterfeiting issue but some indie polish makers are working to get it out in suspension base
