Well you're ripping your hair out of its follicles so it's definitely going to hurt. I have a high pain threshold though so it wasn't that bad for me. Lasted about 20-30 minutes. The lady that did mine made feel very comfortable and my best friend was also with me since I'm not shy about it lol good luck don't make yourself nervous

I didn't find it unbearably painful but I like to text during cause I do find it awkward - wear clothes that breathe

I always wear skirts or dresses when I go. its not too painful, but if you're worried, you can probably take some advil or something about 30 minutes before your appointment. I don't find it awkward-they're professionals, they've seen it all, everyone I've been to has good "bedside manner." They realize most people find it unpleasant, so your waxer will probably be able to put you at ease and not make you uncomfortable. Honestly-I didn't think the pain was too bad. Just communicate with her and tell her what spots you find easier to do and what spots were more sensitive.

Try sugar wax or hard wax. It's still waxing but it hurts just a little less and my treatment is over in about 15-20 minutes. My first time I took aleve but it actually didn't hurt, I too accept pain very well. It may take you some time to find the right person who makes you feel comfortable but that comes with time. Good luck.

It's more of a momentary sting than pain for me. Passes within moments. Be sure to pick up some Bikini Zone ahead of time. You shouldn't exercise or take a bath for 24 hours..wearing loose garments as well. Rinse with cool water when you first bathe and exfoliate as well as incorporate a product like "The Cool Fix" into your routine to prevent ingrown hairs. Be sure the person performing the wax is a licensed Esty and watch they don't ever double dip! Each application of wax should be with a fresh applicator. My spa gives me a wrap around terry cloth skirt and many places offer disposable panties for modesty and comfort. I just use the skirt. Don't apply the Bikini Zone until before bed..it will sting a bit, but keep things sanitary. I'd apply it after my first shower and before bed for the first 3 days...and then I'd move onto exfoliation and an anti-bump product. Good luck! :)
