Add a touch of lotion to it, if the makeup is oilbased use oilbased lotion and vice versa. also makeup spreads easiest on hydrated skin so make sure and lube up your skin beforehand and one more thing, max factor foundations tend to do that so I suggest trying maybelline or covergirl. those spread nicely. have you tried revlon photo ready airbrushed mousse? The consistancy is mousse like but it feels so light on your skin yet covers well. you should try that too. You get a satin finish with that one too and its so pretty.

Yeah I might try the revlon one next. Do you think using a sponge to apply it might help? Don't wanna waste it thats all xx

Try using a damp sponge. spread it onto the back of your hand and smooth it out so it warms up a bit. that should help with spreading it. apply dots all around your face then with fingers spread it out all over. a beauty blender works well for this but a sponge or wedge will work too. get it damp and squeeze out all the extra moisture you can and lightly buff your fave. you will get almost an airbrushed look. do you use a face primer? If not that may help a ton too. I hate buying new makeup and not liking it. I started buying mine from rite aide because if you end up not liking the makeup, they let you return it which is so awesome. if only I would have known that for all those mascaras that I've tried over the years that I absolutely hated.

Oh and don't use a dry sponge to apply foundation as opposed to a foundation brush or stippling brsu or fingers. they will absorb a ton of foundation before it even gets to your face. thats why you use a damp one. it keeps your sponges cleaner and you don't waste as much product. sorry for the incredibly long comments, lol I'm good like that!

I use rimmels as well @Amber. Your makeup is only as good as the canvas you use it on so prepping your face should really be the most important thing. the rest should be very quick and simple if you prepped correctly. if you have blotchy skin, red spots, uneven skin tone try a color correcter. its usually green since green cancels out red. stick with revlon, maybelline and covergirl. there stuff is usually decent. rimmel is an exception but thats the only thing I use from them lol. if you get the primer, rub between your fingers to warm it up then spread an even layer all over your face. rub it in very well so your skin absorbs it (eyelids, lips and all). it locks in makeup so it doesn't fade as fast, controls oil, prevents creasing and makes it easier to get an even looking foundation application.

Sorry I talk a lot but one more thing!;) if you can splurge and pick up urban decays primer potion which is amazing for eyeshadows, you can use that mixed very well together with your foundation to create your very own bb cream. its a trick I learned to improve makeup that I'm just not that crazy about and makes it tons better. just be sure to use a small amount tho and mix it very very well on like the back of your hand or something. Look into getting a stippling brush(taget has one thats great, elf $3) or its called a beauty blender and its like a tear drop shaped sponge. That is the bees knees my friend lol.

Yeah I look afyer my skin and luckily don't have bad skin but do have bad dark circles. I think I'm definitely going to have to try a primes because my foundation normally fafes quite quickly. When using eyeshadow what colours would you suggest and also anu good liquid eyeliners or just eyeliner that actually stays? Really appreciate all this :) definatley going to yry damp sponge when I pick some up xxx

Glad I can help. I love researching makeup. I was trying to grind up my own ingredients to start my own cosmetic line but man it got too confusing. all the websites contradicted eachother on the qualities of the minerals. I had to give it up so now I have all this knowledge and I don't know what to do with it!! Urban decay 24/7 pencil is excellent. apply it and take a flat liner brush and top it off with some black eyeshadow, just a little and it won't budge. I hear all the hype on macs fluidline but I'm broke and I'd have to order it online cuz no mac around (got sold fake ones last time) so I looked for the dupe to it and it is maybelline lasting drama gel liner. it comes in a little pot and a liner brush. It is amazing. I used to only use the ud pencils but I barely touch those anymore. it goes on smoothly, doesn't look too harsh and best of all by the end of the day its not gooped up in the corner of my eyes or under my lashes. it takes some practise to get the brush down but sitting around playing with makeup is a good day to me! I found a video I thought you should watch. he shows you some really good tips on concealer and what this guy knows about foundation is amazing. plus he applies it on himself which makes me giggle just a little bit :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RmvcI3q53_0 for under eye bags and this one for prolonging you makeup to last all day in 5 ways http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BrOC2NEpz90&list=PLx22mSIlDsUDqdnUHnqQ-d1drIE5jqLe7&index=5.

I just wish thst make up actually said what it dies cause sick if buying crap. Yeah might try the urban decay one. Its like.I'd love to wear bkack eyeshadow but afyer a while it just smudges or smudges up. Yeah think its the lasting drama in using at the min but when you were eyeshadow after a while it goes over the euliner and leaves it faded. All peneyliners I've used aswell seems to leak everywhere which is a shame cause I find them easier to use. Think I will have a looj at the videos in morn and ill get back to you :) xxxx

Maybe look into "tightlining" your eyeliner. its not as dramatic but you don't have to worry about messy liner. its where you use eyeliner under your lashes instead of on top the blend it into your lashes. its hard to explain so I might as well add to your homework for tomorrow!!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G5IZ8tHIuvQ.
