My foundation is always kind of solitary :/ I use Macs. I don't even know my skin type I have dry patches on my nose but it's oily and my forehead gets dry but feels oily and whenever I get pimples it makes dry patches. What can I do? I always tone moisturize and prime right before putting on foundation.

I've heard you shouldn't prime and moisturize at the same time. Maybe that's the problem?

Sounds like you have combo skin maybe your foundation isn't for your skin type.

Try using a foundation brush, I find this helps to even out my foundation!

Check out Jaclyn Hills video tutorial. She worked at MAC for 4 years. One of my fave makeup gurus. http://youtu.be/KOcbn1B-srM
And yes you should moisturize no matter what. You can't neglect your skin. I would wait a little bit before applying a primer to allow it to settle in.

Beautyblender is awesome! I just bought one after trying all the foundation brushes. Nothing tops that!

Sounds like combination skin. The core of a flawless foundation is healthy skin. Which isn't always that easy. Try to get rid of the issues you have with your skin but using a gentle face wash, spot treatment on pimples, and a oil free, non-comedogenic moisturizer. I had the same issues! I usually will use a BB cream before my foundation if my skin is really flaky and dry in some areas. It's sheer but it provides the priming and other benefits. Use a stippling technique. Basically just "bouncing" or dabbing on your foundation. Especially around the dry patches, if you rub the dryness will just show much worse. I love the beauty blender for this! I've heard milk of magnesia works amazing as a toner for oily skin before foundation, haven't tried it, my face used to get fairly oily but my foundation by Urban Decay prevents that. Use a finishing powder after applying foundation. It will keep oil at bay and look very lovely. Oil sheets, blotting papers, are very nice for oily touch ups, too! Best wishes xo.

Hi, You seems to have the same skin type as me(: I get really oily skin but have dry patches on my nose too and ill have a patch of dry skin around my acne for a week. My skin type is oily/normal. I find that if I exfoliate two times a week with a homemade scrub I make myself which consist of brown sugar and honey, it seems to help. Don't forget to moisturizer I'd recommend a oil free based moisturizer. I also use a primer that, moisturizers, brightens, blurs, corrects skin tone and fills in my pores. I use mac's studio fix fluid with a stippling brush and I get airbrushed results. I actually just posted a video of my everyday foundation routine on youtube you can check it out at http://www.youtube.com/user/makeupreviewsbyjosee

I hope this helped(:
