I use heat on my hair almost everyday, so I don't think that's going to change right now. But I have started taking Biotin vitamins, and use olive oil, and coconut oil on my hair. I also massage my scalp once in a while to help stimulate the roots.

I just keep the ends trimmed and also use mane and tail shampoo. It just gives your hair some extra vitamins and strength to keep it growing. Diet also has a lot to do with hair health. I don't think there's actually anything to MAKE it grow, but you can keep it healthy so that it's able to grow.

Oil treatments. I don't take biotin because its meant for those with a biotin deficiency or related illness. Eat lots of fruits and veggies. I don't use heat on my hair though because it'll just ruin the results. I've been tracking my hair growth and this is it for a month.

Vitamins, eat healthy, drink lots of water. End trimming doesn't do anything (your hair grows out of the scalp) and I use mane n tail also.

You have good hair.! Lol, my hair is naturally curly like that, and I like it, but whenever I leave my hair natural it goes into little ringlets and looks short, So I'm trying to leave it straight until my hair grows longer.

All of these suggestions are going to work 100%. On top of this, I recommend using Nisim FAST Shampoo and Conditioner. I swear by this stuff! My hair stopped growing after a terrible incident at a salon where they ended up cutting 12 inches of my hair because the hair dresser left the bleach in for too long :( My hair was essentially the same length (had a Bob cut) for 6 months. Within the first month of using FAST, my hair grew an inch and a half. :) Now my hair is down to my lower back. I use this shampoo for a couple of months and stop for a couple months and so on. Its a little pricy but its my saviour.

Where did you buy the Nisim FAST shampoo and conditioner.? And how often did you use it.?

You can't make your hair grow faster, you can only promote growth. You cannot modify growth rate of your hair unless you modify genetics. There are many ways to promote hair growth and that is what you should in particular research.
Here comes my two additional cents and personal experience on this since you have my hair type:
Stay away from mane n' tail. It's not initially meant for humans. It is not PH balanced for human hair and scalp=dry and brittle. Therefore, it dries out your hair. I can say this as well from experience if you don't rely too much on science. I originally believed it was just me or the weather, until a friend informed that she stopped using it for that very reason. And I used it for months on hand.
I also find that not washing out all of your conditioner helps tremendously. ( Advice given to me by John Frieda. ) Not only has my hair quality improved, but I don't get frizz as often and diminishes the use of products.
I don't shampoo too often since it's very stripping. Maybe once a week, maximum. Stick to shampooing your scalp and allowing it to run through your hair when you wash it out.
My curls are just like yours, if not maybe worse because you see how long my hair is? Let it dry and it turns into a bob, about right underneath my chin.

Woww. I'll try to leave some conditioner in when I wash my hair. And thanks that was helpful. But our hair type looks the same but we may not have the same type of hair if you're a different race than me. I'm mixed black and white, and you look like you're either that, or hispanic. And when you wash your hair do you use shampoo or just conditioner.?

I am mixed both hispanic and black. My hair texture is like an african americans, but not quite. I shampoo maybe once a week, or shampoo it on days that I do straighten my hair. I currently have it straight at the moment because I plan on dying it, and I want to get as dirty as possible. After doing so many treatments to chemically straighten my hair, I stopped and learned how to deal with it curly. Now I cringe everytime I straighten it because it's so healthy and looks so nice! I'm like NOOOOO MY BABY -SOBS-. Although because I don't process it anymore, when it straightens it looks naturally straight, and very shiny which is pretty cool! - Especially since I don't use products, period. Just treatments and leaving in conditioner.

If you have oily skin, like me, mane and tail will work fine. I've been using it for like 10 years and my hair is fine. Trimming won't make it grow, just make healthier to promote growth, like I said.

I would recommend trying out castor oil on your hair. If you massage it and keep it in for an hour or so before washing it out you would have the best results, but only do twice a week. It works great!:)

I buy Nisim Fast Shampoo and Conditioner at Trade Secrets but you can also buy them online too! The way it works is it helps turn your scalp into the right environment to promote hair growth. it works wonders. I used it every other day (my normal wash days) for a couple months straight. Then I'd get off of it for a month and so on. I highly recommend it!

You could use a good leave-in conditioner first of all, to make your hair soft and smooth. I use Regis Designline Enchanted Midnight Leave-in. It is awesome. For shampoo, even tho it sounds crazy, buy some Neutrogena T-gel in extra strength. It has menthol in it which stimulates your follicles so your hair will grow. It stinks, but is great for growing your hair out. Just make sure you massage it in until you start feeling your head really cold n tingly. Then wash it out and re-shampoo again and leave it for a few mins. Then I can condition but use a good conditioner. I use Loreal Ever Creme.conditioner. As long as you condition, your hair won't smell at all like the shampoo when your dpne.
