I've tried a top bun, a messy pony, braids but... my scalp hearts so much and hair look horrible in the morning so I just try to put hair above on the pillow not to sleep on it:-)

I plait it up at night and sleep on a silk pillow case. That keeps your hair from damage at night. Also if you tie your hair up use bobbles with no metal parts on them as they damage the hair. Maybe sleep with an overnight hair mask in your hair. x

I pineapple (bend down and do a very high ponytail only tying once) my curls with a satin scrunchie and sleep on a satin pillow case.
