I really want grey/ashy hair but I can't dye my hair yet because I don't have money how else can I turn my hair that colour without going to a salon?!

I think you can do that with bleach and lots of toner. :)

Tone with Wella T-18 toner and 20 volume developer with a splash of 050 violet additive (also by Wella). Then maintain the color by washing with violet/silver shampoos and conditioner.
