I tried out the revlon colorstay foundation today and it looks and feels so unnatural. I don't know how to explain it, but it kind of looks powdery and extremely fake. I added some highlighter, blush, and bronzer to Bring back the dimensions to my face.
But how can I make it look more natural? I have oily skin, maybe that will counteract the powdery look when my face starts to get oily?

Well no foundation should sit on your face like that. And I don't think waiting for your face to get oily is a good idea.
Firstly, I'd suggest checking the formula type. Combination, Dry, Oily. It usually should have that written on the front of the foundation. Another solution, would be use a primer under the foundation, and using a light weight powder on top. Also make sure you're not applying the foundation too thickly, that sometimes can make the appearance of the makeup look "unnatural". Experiment with different ways. It's not the most advised but I find applying my foundation with my fingers really helps smooth and even out the product so that way it doesn't sit heavily on my face. (: hope I helped

^ agree with Dorothea

and, applying your foundation with a beauty blender can give you a natural air-brushed finish.
