What's the difference between makeup brushes and art brushes. They're both brushes just the fact that makeup brushes can be more expensive. I also heard some people say that art brushes are more better to use rather than makeup brushes. They're both brushes so I can't see the difference between them.please helpp.

There's less fall out from art brushes compared to makeup brushes from my experience.

Art brushes would be really harsh on your skin!

To me, my art brushes seem hardee than my normal make up brushes and my make up brushes seem softer, also I do recomend art brushes if you do halloween or sonething that requires detail for example "corpse bride look" that dope211 does, its especially good for that :)

Makeup brushes have silky soft bristles that applies makeup flawlessly to the skin without disrupting or irritating the skin. I find that art brushes shed a lot more than my makeup brushes, but thats just me.

I have some very soft synthetic art brushes, that I use. It works fine. I only wear makeup every other day and not a lot, so I think I'm safe 😉

I wondered about this as well, so thanks for the info. Jacqueline- what brushes would you suggest as a starter set? I am looking for a nice set of brushes that are good quality but not the highest end of the line.

Well that is where I get lost. I hear that synthetic is better than natural, however I am sure that synthetic is also more expensive as well. As for price range, I am not sure. I really don't mean to sound vague or indecisive. It is just that I am really not that familiar with the quality of brushes vs. price range. I currently have a mixture of ELF, Eco Tools, SoHo and a single Coastal Scent sample from Ipsy. I have heard that Coastal Scents is good. What about another step up or two from that? I definitely do not think I can not afford the type of brushes that an MUA would purchase.

Also, I would think, in regards to natural vs. synthetic, if one is better than the other for oily, acne prone skin I should probably look in that direction.

Oh, and some Real Techniques as well. Forgot those.
