At this very moment, I'm sitting here with bleach on my roots, washing it out in ~5 minutes.
I've bought a demi-perm toner from Sally's and it's Lightest Ash Blonde from Wella.
I've heard scary stories of girls with bleached locks trying to go Ash and their hair turning green? How can I avoid this? I don't want funky green tones.
I plan on doing a strand test, but ANY advice would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thank you!

Green based toners are meant eliminate red hair, blue to orange and purple to yellow. Depending on the stage your hair is you should use the according toner. Your hair should be pre lightened to pale yellow as in the inside of a banana to use lightest ash blonde. Mind you, I'm not a professional so please be careful. If it does turn too ashy you can always use red hair shampoo or ketchup on your hair to eliminate the green. Good luck!

If your hair is yellow, ash blonde will make it greenish. When I was blonde, I've been using purple toner, but don't hold it too much. Anyway bleached hair is unforseeable:-)

Hahaha ain't that the truth, mine accidentally turned too gray cause I left wella t10 in for too long. I now use T11 which gives you me much better beige results.

Thank you, ladies!
Vallerie, I was contemplating using T11, but I was told to steer clear of permanent ones. What do you think? So for the first time using a toner I just chose a demi-permanent.

I use permanent toners. Even though they say permanent they really provide temporary contrast to achieve the proper shade and will wash out. I got rid of my gray hair in a week by using dandruff shampoo. I have not experienced demi's so I cannot really cannot say. You should do a strand test before just to be safe.

It won't turn it green, I'm guessing you got the t14 which is blue based or t18 which is voilet blue based so if anything it will turn greyish but that washes out. you just have to et it on your hair quickly and watch it! you will probably only need to leave it on for 5-15 min! happy blonding!

Does that still mean blue/violet based?
Getting ready to do a strand test in a few moments.

My hair turned grey as well. I only had roots done but my whole head turned bluish/grey. If your head does turn green, use dandruff shampoo like Vallerie said. It works after a few washes.

I'd much rather prefer a grey tint than a green.
I have ten minutes left till I wash it out, fingers crossed!

Yes with any color that light green pigmet would be too strong since it cancels out red and not yellow!
