I always get the wrong foundation and powder for my skin how do I match my color.

It's best to match the color right on your jawline. Pick 3 foundations that you think may work. swatch all 3 on your jaw/lower cheek and blend. The one that starts to disappear matches your skin.

I agree with Kelsey, I also swatch my neck too, you could always go to MAC and get matched, once I found my shade in studio fix it was really easy for me to google it and find out what other color foundations girls my shade wore.
