I heard that once you stop using a lotion, they become visible again. It,s better to strengthen the whole circulatory system in order to prevent and make them less visible. And of course only a doctor could tell the right pills for you, for ex vitamins like K. But this is what I,ve heard and read on internet:-)

If they are varicose veins, then only out-patient surgery will work. If they are spider veins which do not bulge like varicose veins I think laser treatment works. Varicose veins are somewhat hereditary but you can help yourself by maintaining a healthy weight, not standing in one place for too long, and elevating your legs when you can. Those ugly compression stockings as Ana G mentioned also work to prevent them but will not rid you of varicose veins that are already there. I hope this helps! Cosmetically, fake tan helps make them a little less noticeable!

I feel your pain. I have one on my knee (thanks mom). But the only way to get rid of them is seeing a doctor.
