I think this is something you need to decide on your own. This is YOUR tattoo and is going to be on YOUR body for the rest of YOUR LIFE. This is something you need to think long and hard on for a while to decide what you want and once you decide keep thinking about it for at LEAST a few months, make sure you don't question it at all, that you don't decide something else. And do not let others influence you. The only person that gets a say in my tattoos (besides myself) is my best friend and that is because he is my tattoo artist and has been my best friend for 8yrs, so he knows me well enough for a say (I just give him my idea, he brings it to life) and he knows what works.

Also, I know it was just a picture for the design and not placement, but the picture of the compass on the heel, I just want to say that those don't last, it gets too much wear and is gone in a couple years tops. Most reputable artist won't put one there due to it.

We shouldn't have to decide tattoos for you, they should be something that means something to you.
Having an infinity sign may be all well and good right now, but what does it mean to you?
Does having a compass mean anything to you? Do you have a love of fishing or boats, or is it just something you want because it looks good or is 'hipster'?

I agree with Brittany & Hannah. I'm up for getting my second tattoo but I'm still trying to find art that is meaningful to me so I have yet to book my appointment. It took me six months to discover the idea for a first one. I wanted a tat that represented the personality of my first born child. I found it when I took her to a butterfly farm at 5 months old. Her face just lit up with the biggest smile and she had the sweetest laugh when she had one land on her arm. And it hit me right there...that its meant for me to get a butterfly tattoo. Took me another month to interview and secure an artist. Everytime I look at that tat it makes me smile because it brings me back to that time with my baby girl. Now she's 13 and to this day she still loves butterfly's and we made our backyard a haven for them. Pick something that holds a meaning to you so you have no regret in the future.

Shelley, I usually hate butterfly tattoos because so many girls get them just because it is the thing for young girls to get, but without even seeing yours I love it because of your story behind it. I am glad you have meaning behind yours, because most girls that get them end of regretting them.

My next tattoo will be my grandfathers thumb print. I want it because he passed away three years ago. Everyone in my family has mAtching memorial tattoos for him but don't like the design so it took me three years to figure out what I wanted and I realized, he left an imprint on me and my life And gave me my values and was always there for me. He was one of a kind.. All like a finger print :) thank god for gob docs so I could track his prints down :) I'm just waiting on my uncle to get the right docs to my house for me.

You could maybe get your last name, in another language. like Chinese or something else that looks cool, but doesn't have English letters. it's cute and also represents your family.
