massage your scalp with warm extra virgin olive oil once a week...i know a lot of people who swear by it :)
also check your protein intake, it needs to be atleast 10% of your total body weight. Make sure you are taking ideal amount of vitamin/minerals and drinking plenty of water.
You can also try diluted apple cider vinegar before your shampoo to see if it lessens the hair fall to some extent...it would be better if you can go to longhaircommunity and search details about how to counteract hairfall
by the way i do not work for or associated with that forum in anyway i.e. i'm not spamming. i just think this is one of the best websites for hair care there is!

don't freak out it's normal to lose 100 - 150 hairs a day. if you don't brush or wash your hair often it seems like more is falling out. change your diet and drink water, add some vitamins to your diet. I am a hairstylist . scalp massage with help with growth of the hair too.

Taking prenatal vitamins can prevent your hair falling out and also make it grow faster and healthier

Don't take any prenatal vitamins unless your pregnant! just take regular vitamins. Its normal for hair to fall out after washing/brushing, but if it seems like more then a handful or two, then you should see a doctor, might just be a health concern.

Prenatal vitamins won't hurt you! They just have less vitamin A and k and more frolic acid. I've been taking them since I had my son 1 1/2 years ago.

Also Nioxin, I have trichotilomania and it really helped when I stopped pulling.

Prenatal vitamins will hurt you. They have way too much iron for a non-pregnant woman. Opt for straight biotin instead. But if you're "suddenly" shedding, its probably not anything you're doing now. What were you doing 90 days ago? Weight loss, gain, stress, illness can all cause severe shedding but it won't happen until your next shedding phase.
