I think this is a wonderful post! It interests me how long drying time is because even if nails are dry sometimes they can still smudge.

Thanks guys. I forgot to add to comment different brands for me to test! You can find my other posts (China Glaze and NYC) under Nails also.

Wow that is super fast. it seems like it takes hours for my nails to dry. I've never tried Essie, I've heard nothing but good things about it! What about Julep? Have you tried the drying time on those at all? They're my new favorite polish. :)

Haven't seen Julep before! It sounds familiar, but I live in a little town, so we don't have Sephora or very many beauty stores. Where do you buy it?

And if it takes hours your coats could be a little too thick. Try 1-2 thin layers. :)

I honestly think this is true for almost all nailpolish brands, not just Essie. if you use a darker polish, you're not going to need as many coats to make it opaque on the nail, & is there for less time consuming. lighter polish colours have always needed more coats to completely cover the nail. at least, that has been my experience with polishes. also, the more coats you use impacts the drying time. if you only use one coat, then it will dry fairly quickly. if you use 2-3, for example, it will take much longer for it to dry.

Julep is only online I believe. They are a subscription nail polish service. The polish is wonderful. ill have to try the thin layers, I seriously didn't know it made such a difference. I usually paint one coat then go right back and do the second coat. Thank you for the tip!
