Hi Tilly! I would say that if you'd rather go with eyeshadow instead of eyeliner, you could do a natural toned smokey eye. Or, if you want to follow the color scheme of the dress code- you could apply a grey eyeshadow on your lid, black on the crease- but blend it out, then use the white on the inner corners of the eye. If you're going to do that look then I would go with a shimmery white so it looks more like a glow than a white glob on the inner corners. Let me know if this helped at all.
