What is (or was) your dress code in high school? What are some of the dress code rules you just HATE?
I'm a senior and I'm getting so fed up with my school. I HATE that we can't wear leggings, even if our butt is covered. I LIVE in leggings. I don't see how leggings aren't appropriate, I see girls with skin tight jeans and close ten times too small that are way worse than my leggings.

Lol I'm sorry to say this, but my school dress code was "please wear shoes." Liberal arts high schools, have to love em.

I live in Britain, and go to a normal secondary comprehensive, but we have to wear a uniform:\
I have to wear a grey pleated skirt, navy v-neck jumper, black or grey tights, black shoes/boots and a white shirt

I go to an accelerated school and they treat us more like adults. We don't have a dress code! but we are responsible enough not to wear anything risky.

I go to the new high school in town so they started out very strict on dress code. Ridiculously. No leggings, no holes in jeans anywhere even if they were the size of some tiny button, pretty much any shorts were unacceptable. Now, however, they've let up thankfully!

For girls, we couldn't show our bellys, shorts had to be longer than arm length , for guys, no baggy pants, no long white or black tee shirt, no shirts with Any sports team. I didn't mind my dress code. I only got told one thing freshman year for wearing a belly shirt (:

I go to a normal british secondary school and dress code is black trousers... (No slim legs or skin tight jeans allowed 😭) or skirt and the skirt is supposed to be just touching the knees which I think is fine for young school girls... Black tight, blue shirt and the school jumper :( all boring black but some girls break the rules and wear leggings with nothing covering their a$$ which a 12 year old wore and got so many inappropriate comments from my crush 😳

I'm in junior high but our dress code is horrible too. No shorts, no leggings, nothing that shows your back, no tank tops, no shirts that show your shoulder, no holes in jeans, no skirts unless it's long, no purses unless smaller than a notebook. I think that's the majority of them. It's ridiculous, I feel ya.

My school doesn't have a dress code. People wear whatever they want whenever they want and no one says anything!

Holy crap! I thought I had it bad... I can't believe the no sports team shirts and the no large purses, that's CRAZY! I feel bad for the rest of you that have actual uniforms, you must get so cold in the winter especially those who have to wear a skirt! The rest of my dress code is:
Holes in jeans must be below the knee (no one follows that one.)
All bottoms like shorts and skirt must be fingertip length.
No leggings unless you are wearing something that is fingertip length on top.
All shirts must have sleeves.
No hats or bandanas.
I go to a Community of Schools, which is five different high schools all on one campus. I go to the arts school. All the other school have banned yoga pants except for mine.
Also, nothing deemed inappropriate (t-shirts promoting drugs, alcohol, any kind of nudity, or sexual slogans) They tried to get my brother in trouble for wearing Nike's "Just Do It" t-shirt...

I live in France. So we don't really have "dress code".. Just being "professional" and not being vulgar and provocative.

We just could wear spaghetti straps or tube tops. tank top had to be two finger lengths wide. which I think was good, so teachers/guys wouldnt look down your shirt.
guys could wear tank tops.
and nothing see through.

I go to a normal secondary school in New Zealand so that means full uniform : Skirt/ dress in the summer and a kilt in winter with a shirt and a cardi plus a blazer to be worn at all times.

I go to a grammar school in the uk, so I have a uniform. Grey school blazer, white shirt tucked into a pleated skirt up to 5cm above the knee at its shortest, grey v neck jumper or cardigan with red piping, black tights or knee highs (no over the knee highs or ankle socks), black matte shoes, no makeup or piercings, hair must be of a natural colour and in a simple style (no shaved bits, massive buns etc), plain white bra, no jewellery and no nail polish or long nails.

I go to a grammar school in the uk and our uniform is brown jumper, white shirt/blouse, brown knee length skirt, black or dark brown shoes, brown black or tan tights, natural hair colour, no noticeable makeup, only one small stud earring, no jewellery except watches. On mufti, no shorts, short skirts or leggings, see through tops, sleeveless tops or exposed arms.

Why do schools ban leggings and yoga pants? I had no clue... That's crazy. I live in leggings and yoga pants. None of them are see through though.

I go to a private school and we don't even have a dress code really. We just can't wear tube tops but anything else is fine. Crazy right??
