There really is no safe way to tan. But I think the best way is using the highest SPF and not staying out for too long. Don't expect to get tan in a day or 2. Be patient. Honestly I gave up tanning because I'd rather be pale with beautiful skin.

There is no safe way to tan. I personally don't like tanning because it ages you significantly, and why not live the natural color of your skin? Every color is beautiful. And I can't suggest anything but getting an extremely high SPF sunscreen and reapplying it every two hours. But that wil not help you get tan, eater give you a slight golden glow, and even that isn't completely safe at all.

I went tanning for awhile and months later I noticed white discoloration spots on my legs, it truly freaked me out and I won't go in a tanning bed anymore. It also dried out my skin sooooo much even with tanning lotion.

Medically, there is literally no safe way to tan. "Tanning" is just scarring of skin cells; therefore, the more you darken, the more you scar, the more you encourage cancer. If you want to get let's say 3 shades darker, then you must scar the cells to a certain point. Whether you use sunscreen or not during that scarring doesn't matter because in the end, the cells were still ultimately scarred to the same amount that they had to be for the desired shade.

I'm not preaching as I have my body, and you have yours. However, you should carefully weigh the pros and cons. Additionally, you could talk to a dermatologist if you want expert knowledge for your decision.

Tanning is a sign that your skin is damaged.
