I have really really dry, cracked, peeling lips. I have tried every lip balm I can find, Vaseline, ointments like A+D & Neosporin, everything I can think of! Nothing is helping! I can't even wear lipstick because it flakes & color clumps in the dryer areas, making my lips look even worse! Lately I've developed a small patch of extremely dry skin on the corners of my lips, dry & flaky to the point where they've split & sometimes even bleed! Not only is it painful, but it's very unsightly also. Anyone have any product suggestions or home remedies or anything that may help?!? Please, I'm willing to try ANYTHING!!!!! Thanks in advance for any help!

You can try a mixture of Vaseline, sugar, and olive oil. Mix it together and scrub it over your lips, rinse with a warm towel and follow up with some lip balm or just plain vasaline. I kinda have the same problem and this always makes my lips super smooth! Good luck!

See, everything I've tried so far has only given me temporary relief. I'd probably have to go to the dermatologist for something to actually make it go away permanently. Thanks for the suggestions ladies, I will try them all & let you know if anything works! I appreciate your time spent trying to help me out!

i think you're lacking in ascorbic acid, sometimes its the sole cause of dry lips.Try to take it morning and night then after you notice a favorable result take once daily.

I actually had the same problem with very dry lips. No matter what kind of lip balm I tried, it didn't get better. What worked for me is drinking a LOT of water, in addition to using Burts Bees lip balm. Burts bees because it seems to be the only lip balm that works for me.

Don't rely on only products to help with your problem, oftentimes I find that your lifestyle and habits play a huge role with your skin.

I drink a lot of water, so I don't think that's the issue. I don't think I'm lacking ascorbic acid either, if anything I'm possibly taking too much, maybe? I take a lot of vitamins & supplements daily, my boyfriend is a fitness buff/gym rat, so he makes sure I get lots of nutrition.

I had the same problem for years! Now I have solved it! =)
After I washed my face at the evening I use a soft (!!!) toothbrush and warm water to make a soft peeling on my lips. Then I take honey and put it on my lips. Then I make me an nice cup of camomile tea. Honey and camomile is antibacterial. Honey moisturize the lips. Dont like it from the lips!!! This would dry them out even more! I let the camomile tea set for about 10 min and then drink it. With a little bit of cotton I use the last sip of tea to softly wipe away the honey and then use a natural cosmetic lip balm with mostly bee wax in it.
Try it and let me know if it helped.
Good Luck <3

Try Eucerin Aquaphor skin protectant ointment. I have very dry lips even thought i have oily skin and drink lots of water. This is the only thing that really helps and moisture my lips so well. When i have lots of dead skin on my lips, i usually put a thick layer and wait for some time. After the dead skin become completely soft, wape it off with tissue or towel. Ur lips will be so soft and moisture!

I have to agree with Becky W. I have the same problem. do you have any skin conditions? I use burts bees lip balm too, and it works wonders. I would suggest going to a dermatologist though. Hope this helps!

i'll say VASELINE PETROLEUM JELLY, my mom taught me to use it every night before sleep with generous amount on lips and outer too. to keep lips smooth and not changing color because using too much lipstick (sometimes will get darker), also to remove dead skin cells. then use any lip balm that you like on day time, my current fave is CARMEX-peach mango. it works for me!

My cousin used to have EXTREMELY dry and chapped lips. So bad, they used to crack open and bleed! Her Doctor recommended "Blistex DCT" it's amazing and I use it all the time now!
