I have oily skin, and no matter what I do, it won't go away! I use milk of magnesia as a primer, I use powder foundation, I moisturize, and I blot throughout the day! Any other tips? I'm willing to try anything! Thanks so much!!

My doctor told me to buy benzoil peroxide which is OTC :) It works wonders for my oily skin!

Try rose hip oil, it may help balance out the oils on your face, how often do you exfoliate? Do you let your skin breathe without makeup? What type of moisturizer do you use? These can all affect the skin type x

Also try an egg white mask, it will soak up the oil x

Jess, I have never exfoliated (I don't even know how 😧) I wear make up every day, but let my skin breathe by washing my face morning and night, I use clean and clear morning burst oil free moisturizer

Okay so what I would suggest it try adding a face scrub, I recommend st Ives apricot scrub because it has a little salicylic acid in it which helps break down oil or their green tea scrub if you have sensitivity, you may be washing too much maybe try washing once a day and it's always good to change up your face wash every now and then other wise your skin will get used to the products you are using which prevents them from working effectively

The problem is what you simply say. You blot, you do everything to remove oils from your face, and by doing that you're making your skin produce more oils.
Your skin is the biggest organ in your body, and it's a sensory organ. The more you take away the more it will make to compensate for it.
The solution to it is simple, but you might think I'm crazy. But then again, I told my best friend to do it and after months of rolling her eyes at me she tried it and it worked wonders.
Basic chemistry comes into place here. Like removes like.
For example, you can use nail polish to remove nail polish. Same concept, you use oils to remove oil. You can take any oil you like... Vitamin E Oil, Jojoba, Almond, Avocado after you cleanse your skin and apply it with a cotton ball. This will replace the oils that your skin will produce with clean, fresh, oils that will get absorbed into the skin ( unlike the oils your face produces ).
I love learning about my skin and after posting pictures of my face I get nothing but e-mails and comments on how to take care of skin, so eventually I had to learn about every skin type! It's up to you whether you want to go through with it or not :)

Oily skin is a skin type. You can't change it. I highly recommend Paula's Choice. They have an awesome return policy and awesome customer service who would love to help anyone. You can buy samples. You can try Paula's Choice Shine Stopper, Paula's Choice Skin Balancing Toner, and RESIST Super-Light Daily Defense SPF 30. Dermadoctor Picture Porefect Pore Minimizer has an antiperspirant ingredient that may help. Do not use milk of magnesia on your face! The pH of milk of magnesia is terrible for your skin. You need to use a gel or lightweight moisturizer. Basically, use products that are meant for oily skin.

Do you think coconut oil would work for what Kitty said??

Coconut oil would work. Just make sure it's extra virgin, cold pressed, and organic. Nothing should be added to it. It is also a solid at room temperature, so it will have to be melted down to use. It melts quickly though. You could even just warm it in your hands.
