Corrector and concealer my friend. Foundation is just like a top coat to finish it all off ( along with powder if you powder your face)

Try Benefit Porefessional or MAC prep+prime!
and give it some time to set in then apply your foundation..what foundation do you use btw?

A good primer is very important, which can fill your pores and make you skin smooth for the foundation. I use Laura Mercia usually but recently I tried the bourjois happy light primer and it was really good as well :) also you need a good finishing powder to blur out the imperfections x

Primer and a good foundation. I like guerlain foundations and use a good brush like a sigma f80.

Make sure all your skins dead cells are removed using a scrub. Before application, let your moisturizer dry about 5minutes. Use a primer that corrects the skintone. Whether you need a green coloured, lilac, pink, yellow. Green reduced redness, lilac (I forgot), pink for dark spots or blue discoloration, and yellow for brightening the complexion.

To do this I use a flat top Brush like the f80, a full coverage or buildable coverage foundation so I can tailor my basic coverage needs, and then concealer like mac studio fix for blemishes and then pro longwear for under eyes. It's a lot about the blending too. And to make sure it's not cakey, I use fix +.

For a flawless foundation:

wash your face
apply a moisturizer
apply a primer
use less foundation first and if you need more then slowly build it up

and use a damp beauty blender to blend out the foundation for a more natural look.

then set with a light amount of powder
