My skin is a an olive town i guess. NC 35 in Mac foundation. I'm considering coloring my hair dark red, it's currently black. I really like the color of Ariana Grandes? I think that's her name. Would that look ok on my skin tone? What color would you recommend?

Ariana grande had beautiful color hair but red hair is really really hard to maintain. I constantly had to touch up the color every couple weeks. It fades into a nasty brassy orangey color. I've had my hair red before and it was hard keeping the color the way it is

I suggest going to a salon or beauty school. I do hair and thats a color correction. hair color doesn't lift colored normal. if your hair is virgin then it should be fine if you do it.

you would have to shampoo in cold water and get a good color care shampoo cause reds are the hardest to keep from fading

i think a red would look great on you! I went through a red phase and I loveddd it. It's been a while so I don't remember how often I went for touch ups but I would suggest a dark red a brighter red might be harder to keep up with. Red dye is the hardest for hair to hold so expect red showers when you wash. Deffinately go to a salon!

Thanks everyone!(: I'm not new to coloring my hair. I had it colored black professionally a month ago, I normally dye it black. I understand I'll probably have to strip it :/ Is there anything I can purchase at Sally's or a hair salon that won't damage my hair?? I don't wanna pay an extreme amount to have my hair color lifted.

bleach aka lightener are going to cause damage to the hair specially if someone that isn't trained in it. a stylist is trained and can apply it fast and evenly. and lift you to where you need to be in order for the pigment to hold you don't want to go to light.how about going to a beauty school those prices are reasonable.
