What are your favorite YSL nude lipsticks and are they worth the price tag??...
Dec 28, 2013
Shelley W.
I recently played around with them as I've been collecting their eyeshadow palettes from their Pure Chromatics line. The lipsticks in my opinion, buying one from each formulation, are disappointing. The glosses barely hung around for two hours and the more pigmented creamy formulas dried my lips out. For the price tag I'd rather buy two MAC lippies. If you're looking into getting a good nude lippie look into Bobbi Brown, Laura Mercier or Tom Ford (if high-end is a requirement). For drugstore nude...Kate Moss under Rimmel line has some nice nudes and Maybelline just released a line of nude lippies that are simply gorgeous.

^what Shelley said. maybelline New line (although I've only seen pics).
Revlon shine or cream formula.
I don't believe in paying a lot for nude. that's just me. ;-)

Oh ok thanks Shelley! I would be so disappointed to spend $30 in YSL and not Love it. I think I might yet out the Kate miss by rimmel or maybe the bobbi brown. I've never tried anything by bobbi brown before. Do you like bobbi brown line?

I was thinking the same thing Naomi. I'm so tired of paying for high end makeup and me not Love the product. That's why I'm so glad the beautylish ladies are there to help me. ☺️

I should definitely tale high end stuff back if you don't like it..
I stay around what I refer to as midgrade. lol. Mac Clinique, UD, too faced. etc.etc.. I can afford it and I'm satisfied with the quality.. ysl, Burberry, tom ford, I just can't get into that just yet.. I dip in and out of drugstore stuff. I have my moments when I love it. then I get some bad stuff n step back for a bit.. lol.

Do I love Bobbi Brown? Candi I LOVE Bobbi Brown. I'm hardcore collector of the line. I have all her shimmer bricks, even the L/E's. All of her gel eye liners and complete set of her brushes. The list can go on and on. The only thing I no longer use from her line is the liquid foundation. She changed up the formula adding lavender oil and for me its a major skin irritant. Which bums me out because I love the finished look it gave me. Her blushes are highly pigmented and in the same ballpark as NARS and Tom Ford. What I don't have from her are lip liners (I'm hardcore with MAC & NYX for lip liners).

@Naomi...girl once you go high-end there is no going back. I love my drugstore though. Its an awesome feeling to land a drugstore lippie that outperforms the high end stuff.

Girl. I'm not goin til I'm balla!. lol..cause I'll need it all. lol.
I agree. I was so happy to find maybelline fitME. I kno it doesn't work for everyone but for me its amazing.!. that was my first drugstore buy in YEARS!. like early this yr I found fitME so I started tying other stuff.

I love Maybelline FitMe foundation...the stick version. Haven't tried the liquid yet. But the stick formula agrees with my skin big time Naomi. Candi, your post is getting clogged up by two hardcore makeup junkies.lol.

You're oily. the liquid prob act a fool on you!. I'm closer to dry.. I want to try the stick for summer but they don't make my shade.. yet at least.

LOL! That's OK ladies, I love to know what you like and don't like. I however don't really like to many drugstore products. For me I think some of the quality is mediocre. I very rarely find any good lippies that suit my skin tone. It's like hit or miss. Then when I do but I'm to lazy to take back to the store. @shelley I might give bobbi brown a try. What do you recommend, I ask you because you seem like your familiar with the brand.

Shelley knows her BB.
I feel you on drugstore candi.. I have some rules I stick to with drugstore and the fact that ppl.are swatch crazy right now I research my srustore stuff. never impulse buy. I may go ahead and pick it up because I see it but you've already Been exposed to the product in some sense.. and then its still a crap shoot.. because everyones opinion of quality is different.. that's y, like I said, hadn't even tried in years.

Candi...definitely check out her undereye corrector and concealer, her pot gel liners are worthy, blush colors in apricot and almond, her shimmer bricks (topped over a corresponding blush or used as a highlighter is beautiful),retouching powder in peach, any of her shimmer eye wash colors (my personal fave is black plum), nude lippie in "uber nude" from her rich lip color line, her smokey eye kajal liner (gives me a smokey eye that has a soft tip end to blend out) in the shade black amethyst and it pairs up beautifully with the uber nude lippie. Long wear cream shadows are awesome as well and pairs up nicely with her pain shadows. Just an FYI...Bobbi's line is great for those days when you want that subdued look. She rarely does flashy colors though she did surprise me a few seasons ago and released some very bright LE lippies. I snagged the shade Neon Pink and its the brightest Bobbi Brown lippie I have from her. Have fun exploring. :)
